Inżynierskie Targi Pracy
Inżynierskie Targi Pracy (engineering job fairs) are one of the biggest and prestigious projects organized by our association since 2008. Our main goal is to ensure various and diversified job offers for students of each faculty, with special emphasis on engineering fields of study. We try to provide most diverse business fields like: architecture, IT, banking and finances, chemistry, electronics, energy production, industry or transport.
Our event is known by most students on every 9 faculties of Gdansk University of Technology, who will be part of qualified and trained personnel in the future. Inżynierskie Targi Pracy helps students to decide in which field they want to develop, they allow them for the first time to contact serious employer and they simplify making important decisions about their employment. Companies on the other hand can show theirs offers to students from Tricity’s Universities and acquire professional employees with high qualifications. So we provide direct contact employer with student which helps to understand expectations of both sides.
In the implementation of this event, which is intended to integrate the academic and economic environment, we receive support from the Gdansk University of Technology, for which we are very grateful to them. In addition, cooperation with various companies builds a partner relationship between us, which is for us a commitment to maintaining good relations in the coming years. We are grateful for any words and comments that improve our services. We make every effort to ensure that the future edition will be even more successful, which will benefit all parties.
This year's edition of the Engineering Job Fair will be held on 7-8 March 2018 in the courtyards of the Main Building of the Gdańsk University of Technology. During the two days of the fair, we traditionally plan a plebiscite in which students will select the best exhibitors. There will also be free workshops and CV consultations to which we warmly invite you all.
European BEST Engenering Competition
European BEST Engineering Competition Challenge is a project organised by BEST on Universities of Technology all over Europe. It is already the twelfth time that together with 5 other BEST groups in Poland we are organising EBEC Poland. The main goal of the competition is to let the students try their theoretical knowledge gained during their studies in real problems from many different fields of science and technology. EBEC Challenge starts with the Local Rounds in 6 Universities of Technology in Poland. The winning teams of each Local Round then proceed to the National Final which is taking place in Kraków this year. Four-person teams can take part in one of the two categories: Case Study or Team Design. By organising this project we want to create the vision of the engineer of XXI century - the person who is creative, has extensive knowledge and is open to cooperate with people with others.
Participants in this category work on an intensive analysis of a technology problem and come up with detailed suggestions for a solution to the given problem. They have limited time to prepare the presentation, which is then presented to the audience and the jury.
The teams taking part in the Team Design category have limited time to design and construct a creative solution to an engineering problem, using materials and tools provided by organisers, according to the task given. Their construction must complete a few tasks and challenges.

FOKA is a project which first edition took place 14 years ago at Gdansk University of Technology. The event lasts one day and is a chance for most of associations and student research groups of our university to represent themselves in front of students. Its crucial goal is to share all the positive energy and motivation with the participants and show them how easy it is to find new interests, hobbies and passions at our university. In other words, FOKA aims to keep students motivated and make them more ambitious, showing that aiming high and reaching goals does not have to be such a hard and lonely path. A lot of students are joining associations in order to do something more than just studying, to develop in different fields and live actively. During the event you have an opportunity to meet such people! You will also have the chance to participate in our Game in the Main Building, which is a great occasion to get to know people full of passion and to win some impressive awards. The 12th edition of FOKA will be held on the 21th of March this year. We plan to add a new possibility for students’ associations and research groups - workshops after the event. Please remember: participation in FOKA is not only a new experience, but also great fun and will provide you with a lifetime of memories!
BEST Gaming Arena
The BEST Gaming Arena is the first such a large gaming event at the Gdańsk University of Technology. For two days, we transformed the courtyard of Jan Heweliusz in the main building into an arena of virtual warriors.
Students of our university team competed in Counter Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends games, as well as participated in lectures and lectures on electronic sport and new technologies.
From year to year, this type of entertainment is becoming more and more popular. In Poland, playing on the computer slowly begins to be classified as sport. Proof of this can be Polish people who create strict leaders the best teams around the world.
After long conversations and examining the interest of our students, decided to organize something completely new, we previously didn't know or try. We faced a huge challenge, but we knew that we wanted to meet the expectations of students. BEST Gaming Arena became a kind of bridge with students to whom ours previous projects did not reach. We focused, among others, on the IT faculty, trying to bring our activity to those who have not heard about us yet.
Long before the entries a lot of people were interested in the project. After the start of registration, just seven minutes was enough for almost 600 people to enter the tournament, so the limit of places in the main games was exceeded twice.
Motivated and extremely positively surprised by the interest in the event and its success, we plan to organize the next edition.
BEST Course is an event organized throughout the whole year where students from european technical universities get the chance to complement their fields of study, learn and take their first steps into an international career, increase their international experience, set up contacts, improve their English level and have fun. Each BEST event is attended by 20-30 engineering and technology students like you, who have something in common: they want to live a unique experience, different from day-to-day school life!
In these events, participants attend lectures given by the university's teaching staff or by experts from companies. It’s an opportunity not only to follow interesting classes covering many different technology fields, economics, marketing and management but also to broaden your horizons by visiting companies, industrial plants and research centres, taking part in case studies and learning new practical skills.
There are 3 subtypes of BEST Course: BEST Courses on Technology, BEST Courses on Career Related Skills and BEST Courses on Applied Engineering. At the end of each course students take an exam, which is designed to evaluate the participants' success. By passing it students may also receive ECTS credits in recognised courses.
Last summer we organized a BEST Course on Technology “DisAPPear in Gdansk” where 22 students from 17 different countries learnt about creating mobile applications. Thanks to help from teachers and company representatives in the end they were able to make an app on their own. During those 11 amazing days they also got to know polish history, cuisine and traditions, explored beautiful city of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia and needless to say made friends with whom got wonderful lifelong experience!

Empowered diversity - developing students
BEST (Board of European Students of Technology) is an international organization, associating over 3300 students from 33 European countries. For 27 years, as a BEST, we enable agreement, cooperation and exchange of experiences. In addition, we give the opportunity to integrate and develop in an international environment, conducive to learning about various social and cultural aspects. We believe that such experience is necessary for the full development of future engineers, which is why we offer them the opportunity to gain scientific and professional experience. These activities bring us closer to our vision of "empowered diversity".
95 BEST local groups create a strong and growing group of well-organized students who want to use their skills and creativity to develop three environments: academic, student and economic.
We have the opportunity to reach over one million students of technical faculties who can participate in all BEST ventures. The overriding goal is to promote communication and exchange of experiences between students of technical universities across Europe. Through working in a multicultural environment, future engineers are opened to international contacts, to gain unique experience, which makes their offer particularly attractive on the European labor market.
